Clinical Transition Program

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney’s (SVPHS) Clinical Transition Program supports and educates new graduate nurses to develop confidence, professionalism, expertise and first-rate clinical skills. Our program provides experience in a diverse and challenging range of specialty nursing environments and has a strong commitment to a culture of enquiry, research and best practice.

Our program offers one intake in late February each year. Different pathways are available to complete the 11 month program. Graduates can either select a dedicated Surgical Services program or can rotate through two specialty areas, with an option for a 6 month second rotation in either Surgical Services, Mental Health or ICU. This is a 0.8 position (4 days a week) .

Graduates also have the opportunity to enrol in a Clinical Transition Honors with the University of Tasmania during their transition year and being a graduate at St Vincent's Private means you receive extra credit for some of the assessments.
