In addition to specialised treatment, routine eye examinations and visual assessments are carried out. Members of the department have access to the most modern ophthalmic surgical equipment in the Day Surgery Unit as well as access to all forms of medical ophthalmic laser treatment. The Day Surgery Unit is fully equipped for all aspects of cataract surgery, corneal transplantation surgery, pterygium surgery, glaucoma surgery and oculoplastic surgery.
