FRANZCO MBBS (Adel) MPH (Syd)
After completing my medical degree in 2006 at the University of Adelaide, I undertook internship and residency at Concord Hospital, Sydney. I was trained as an ophthalmologist at Sydney Eye Hospital. During my training I was very fortunate to spend time working in Darwin and various outreach clinics in the Northern Territory treating indigenous Australians. This is something I plan to continue in the future.
From early in my training I developed an interest in glaucoma. I completed a glaucoma fellowship under the guidance of Prof Keith Martin at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, UK. I gained valuable experience in glaucoma surgery and complicated cataract surgery.
I find teaching and lecturing very rewarding. I am currently a lecturer at Sydney University medical school. My other passions include sport, film, classical music, and spending time with my family and friends.
I am a staff specialist and member of the Glaucoma Unit at Sydney Eye Hospital.
