The Department of Surgical Oncology at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney provides specialised care for patients with breast cancer, thyroid cancer, sarcoma, melanoma and a wide range of other tumours.
Surgeons in the department work closely with specialists in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Cancer Genetics within the St Vincent’s Campus to provide multidisciplinary care for patients with cancer. Our aim is to provide excellence in cancer care from early diagnosis to ongoing management and follow up. All patients are presented at our regular multidisciplinary tumour group meetings held at the Kinghorn Cancer Centre to ensure that their care is fully co-ordinated within the one centre of excellence.
All members of the department have undergone advanced post-fellowship training in surgical oncology at prestigious overseas centres.
